Explore our rich history and become part of a tradition that values nature, education, and fun!
Founded in 1954, the Blue Hills Sportsmen’s Club was created to promote sportsmanship, the responsible use of our natural resources, and encourage safe, enjoyable shooting sports. We also engage in a variety of educational and charitable activities within the local community.
Family-Friendly and Community Focused
At Blue Hills Sportsmen’s Club, we understand the importance of family and youth involvement. Our doors are open to both members and the community for family-oriented events like Trap Shooting. We take pride in offering a welcoming environment for all ages.
Beautiful Grounds and Facilities
Our club spans 160 acres of scenic land, located about 9 miles southeast of Rice Lake. Members have limited access to this property, with 40 acres behind the rifle and pistol ranges restricted for safety purposes. Our clubhouse features indoor restrooms, hot food and snacks, beverages, and a comfortable social area with views of the surrounding woods.
Hunting Land
Members of the Blue Hills Sportsmen's Club also have access to hunting land. The property is carefully managed to support various wildlife habitats, both game and nongame, making it a great resource for nature enthusiasts.
Events and Activities
We host a variety of events throughout the year, which can be found on our online Calendar of Events. These gatherings are a great way to get involved, meet other members, and enjoy the outdoors with your family.

Our Founding Directors
The club was originally established by 10 directors: Francis B. Schneider, Francis King, William Hrudka, Louis Roux, Oscar Moe, James Scolman, Dr. R.A. Ross, Lloyd Holetz, Edward Field, and Medric King.
These dedicated individuals laid the foundation for the club’s commitment to promoting safe shooting and environmental stewardship.
Current Board of Directors
The club’s business is managed by a six person Board of Directors elected from the active membership. Special committees also exist to plan and coordinate shooting sport activities.
The Board and general membership meets on the third Monday of each month at 7:00 P.M. in the clubhouse.
